Maximo is an autonomous solar panel installation robot developed by AES Corporation (now spun off as Max Robotics). The tracked mobile robot with a multi-jointed robotic arm installs over 1 solar module per minute on utility-scale farms, nearly 2x faster than traditional methods. It completed 100 MW of installation at the AES Bellefield complex in California by March 2026, using NVIDIA AI-powered computer vision to detect and place panels across rough terrain with just a 2-person crew.
